Snowy Owl Films has been producing documentary films that focus on social issues since 2005. The Michael Schmidt film about a farmer’s struggle to make raw milk legal in Canada won Best Picture at Planet in Focus in 2008 and was aired on CBC’s The Lens. One Calm Hour is the story of drumming and music therapy in the locked in-patient schizophrenia unit at CAMH, Toronto. It has been screened to raise funds for drums and musical instruments for the patients at CAMH. We have been supporting students in Zambia since our inception through the NGO Project Luangwa. Kids in the Wild was produced to tell their story and to raise awareness of the need to support intelligent young students who find themselves as single and double orphans and unable to pay the fees to have a secondary education.
